Behind The Darkness

The night did not appear that day in the way it was welcomed. The sun was still hanging in the clouds consoling the weeping sky. The rays hid in the melancholic shelter of the forest where the carnival was abandoned forever commemorating the warrior souls. I too was lost in the playful strategy of the darkness. I dug deeper into the emptiness I got, but screamed high in the darkness remembering the lonely sun, its helpless cry. That evening I got a heartful of pain that put me in a tearful trance and I shivered with a speechless outcry finding my past back from oblivion.

I set the bonfire to burn my haunting pain. The moon filled night grew brighter as I advanced to exhale my pain. And then suddenly the shining stars started falling on the ground creating a glittering lake, seemed I have entered into the Elysian island. I felt swimming in it,floating, suspending, relaxing to merge in the eternal bliss it spread.  The mysterious clouds gave me a look while flying past the moon, and it was in a moment they came down covering my body, giving a coldness which grew intense at the lulling whip of the wind and I was ushered to a suspending calmness that I have been seeking long since the time I have known this life. Suddenly the fire blew out, clouds went up and the stars disappeared. I saw the moon smiling at the horizon.

It’s a bright sunny day after the mysterious night. The morning sun shaded the sky with an effervescence of desires. The awful clouds are still wandering in the sky imitating the last night’s shenanigans. While the moon escaped safely, the birds lost the direction following it. They could not come back. And then the burnt wings started falling from the sky like a fire rain which plummeted into a deep abyss in the mountain perplexing the horizon. Embarking on the path of a lonely warrior the sun vowed to the sky to sacrifice its age for the rescue of the moon. The clouds came to halt suddenly and the sky turned green.

I am a watchful soul wandering from place to place, I have seen the moon in a varying level of happiness. In the silent nights when you are asleep, I have seen the moon coming down surreptitiously, slipping from the sacred lap of the mountains, kissing the rivers deep, showing the infinite love it has been personifying to the world.  I fly high with the moon to see the earth engrossed in silence and the clouds embracing the wind forgetting the daylong clashes. And now when it has gone far away from me, I have lost a part of me that has made me float in a celestial void that is shrinking quicker and quicker to squeeze me into a massless entity.

The sun is set. I can feel the change in the atmosphere, it is haunting. Soon it will be dark. After sometime the moon will appear. That vow, that solitary nights, the lost birds, the painful screams . Bring back the moon, bring back the birds…..
